Thai Massage

Thai massage uses pressure and stretching techniques to relax the whole body. Many people believe that the health benefits of Thai massage include lowering stress, boosting energy, and improving athletic performance. Thai massage uses gentle pressure and stretching techniques to relax the whole body. This is an ancient healing practice that originated in India. It dates back to around 2,500–7,000 years ago. The technique that Thai massage practitioners use is very different from what people in the West may be accustomed to. Unlike Swedish or shiatsu massage techniques, in which a person passively lies on a bed, the client lies on a matress on the floor and participates more actively in the massage.

Oil Massage

Massage oil is a substance used to reduce friction during massage therapy. It may also produce aromas that can further the relaxation and beneficial effects of massage. Massage may further be very uncomfortable without the presence of massage oil. Many massage oils consist of a set of base oils and essential oils. Massage oils developed alongside aromatherapy. Ancient cultures, such as the Egyptians, have even used them. Although not an essential part of every massage, massage oil can help promote overall well-being and enhance one’s health.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is an effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the body. Through management, manipulation and rehabilitation of the soft tissues of the body, it can be used to aid a variety of ailments/injuries. Through correct stretching, training and use of health equipment, your overall health awareness and understanding of the deep tissues will improve. You can use this knowledge to improve performance. Increases blood flow through the tissues, resulting in faster recovery time, removal of waste products and toxins.

Aromatherapy Massage

This massage will treat all areas of the body most prone to stress and tension, such as the back, shoulders and neck, along with the upper and lower legs, arms and hands. The blend of incredible oils and the luxurious massage will send you into complete relaxation, and you'll leave feeling renewed. Massage therapy has been linked to short-term decrease in physical aches and pains and improved mood. Adding an essential oil for an aromatherapy massage can potentially enhance the effects.

Siam Herbal Compress

The compress is made up of dried or ground herbs wrapped in muslin and then steam steamed to release any potential medicinal properties. The warm compress can then be systematically applied to the recipient's entire body, pressing or pounding it to soothe their muscles and stimulate their senses. The herbal compress can either be used as part of a massage or pressed against skin after a massage for further relaxation. As the moist heat makes its way down through the body, it helps to melt away any tension and soreness while skin absorbs the herbal blend.
What to expect

Perhaps the most daunting part of a massage for first timers is getting undressed. Your technician wants nothing more than for you to be relaxed, so undress to the point where you’re comfortable. The technician will always give you privacy and time to get ready. Once you’re on the massage table, there will be a sheet or towel for you to slip under. You’ll typically start the massage face down, but the technician will let you know if this is not the case. At some point during the massage, you will be asked to flip over. Don’t be embarrassed if you fall asleep during your massage, this happens often! 

Be sure to drink a lot water after facials and massages to help flush out any toxins that may be put into motion during massage.

Don’t be surprised if you’re feeling sore the next day, either – your technician likely hit muscles that haven’t been used in a while, so it’s normal to feel as if you’re recovering from a workout.
